Powder X-ray diffractometer in Bragg-Brentano geometry, using a Cu tube, motorized primary slits, Soller slits, linear detector and optional sample rotation. A 90-position programable sample changer allows for unattended measurement of many samples. Several sample holders including bottom-loading, side-loading and low background are available. It can be equipped with a secondary graphite monochromator to study samples containing fluorescent elements. This system allows the qualitative and quantitative determination of crystalline phases in polycrystalline and powder samples as well as structural studies.

Thanks to its interchangeable optics and a range of available detectors, it allows for many different studies. It is normally configured in point focus with an area detector (Våntec 500) to allow for microdiffraction (50 μm minimum spatial resolution), grazing incidence, stress and texture measurements, but other techniques such as HR-XRD, reciprocal space mapping or reflectometry are available upon request. A hemispherical temperature chamber allows for non-ambient studies.
